September Classic Tournament

 

The Tournament is sanctionedby the C.A.H.A. and the G.T.H.L. and will be played under G.T.H.L. rules except where specified below. All games will be played at Canlans York.

 

There is no admission fee to any of the games!

 

TEAM REGISTRATION

All players and team officials participating in the tournament must be registered on the teams approved C.H.A. rosters. The only exception would be in the case of affiliated players who must be registed on their teams approved roster and this also must be presented at the teams registration.

 

All teams are required to register with the Tournament Committee at least 60 minutes prior to their first game. Team rosters and Permsion sheets must be verified before and players or coaches will be allowed to participate in the tournament. Any final versions of the roster must be presented before any players added may play. Any falsifing of the roster will result in an automatic disqualification of the team from the tourament.

 

Where and when possible (written request must be made) schedule requests will be accomodated, once the final schedule has been posted no alterations will be made.

 

PROTESTS

 

  1. Protests will be allowed on relevant rule interpretations only.

  2. In the case of a protest the CAPTAIN of the protesting team will notify the REFEREE's of the protest.

  3. The REFEREE will then notify the oppositionteam as well as the timekeeper who will record the protest on the game sheet.

  4. If the protest os of immediate importance and inpacts the game, the referee will call for the conveynor who will arrange for the rules and discipline commitee to immediately hear and rule on the protest.

  5. If the protest does not have a direct bearing on the outcome of the game, the RULEs and DISCIPLINE committee will hear and rule on the protest immediately after the game has been completed and notify all parties of their ruling.

  6. No Protests will be allowed on Improper Uniforms, Stick and Equipment Measurements. Improper starting lineups or player elegibility.

  7. ALL DECISIONS OF THE RULES AND DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE WILL BE DEEMED FINAL

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

 

The tournament will be a round robin format with each team playing 4 games. In divisions having 2 groupings the top team in each group will advance to the finals after the 4 game round robin. In division having only 4 teams there will be a 3 game round robin with a semi final and a final game. In divisions having 5 or 6 teams there will be a 4 game round robin with the top 2 teams advancing to the finals.

 

Game times will be as follows.

  • Minor Atom thru Minor Peewee 10-10-10 with a 50 minute curfew

  • Peewee thru Bantam 10-10-12 with a 55 minute curfew

  • Minor Midget thru Midget 10-10-15 with a 60 minute curfew

  • Team will be notified by the timekeeper 10 minutes before the curfew is to begin at which time the game will switch to running time

  • All games are stop time. There is a mercy rule that allows for running time should the score differential reach 5 goals at any time during the 3rd period. Once running time occurs the game will remain such until the end of the game.

  • The conveyner or referee may at his/her disgression set the game into running time if it is felt that Safety Issues exists.

 

ROUND ROBIN:

In the round robin points are awarded as follows:

  • 2 points for a win

  • 1 point for a tie

  • 0 points for a loss

Ties games will be allowed in the Round Robim portion of the Tournament.

 

Tie Breaker Format at the end of the round robin to see which team progresses to the next level.

  • If 2 teams are tied the winner of the head to head advances if this was a tie game or if there a 3 teams in the tie breaker then this does not apply and we move to the next step
  • The higher percentage, taken to 3 decimal places, when the total goals for are divided by the total goal for and against.
  • Highest number of goals for.
  • Fewest number of goals against.
  • Fewest penalty minutes in the Round Robin.
  • Coin Toss.

SEMI FINAL GAME

In the event of a tie at the end of a semi-final game, the winner will be decided by a SHOOT OUT of which the format and rules are as follows.

  • Any player in the penalty box at the end of regulation time will not be allowed to participate in the shootout.

  • Coaches will pick 3 players to participate in the first round of the shootout, all 3 players will attempt to score with each team alternating. In the event the game is still tied.

  • The shootout will continue with 1 player from each team attempting to score until a winner is declared.

  • No player can participate for a second time Until all eligible players from the team have participated

 

FINALS:

In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time in the championship game, 10 minute Sudden Victory periods will be used until a winner is declared.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO ICE LIMITATIONS YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO START YOUR GAME 15 MINUTES AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. TEAMS UNABLE TO START WHEN REQUESTED WILL FORFIETED THEIR GAME. CONVEYNORS WILL ADVISE TEAMS OF ANY EARLY START 45 MINUTES PRIOR TO GAME TIME.
